Merengue Airlines, Inc., was formed April 18, 2002 as a Delaware corporation. Merengue Airlines, Inc., is a new consumer airline in its formative stages. It is being organized to take advantage of a specific gap in the long haul International/Domestic travel market. The gap exist in low cost service out of New York-JFK to and from the Dominican Republic. The gap in the availability of low cost service in and out of the New York City - Dominican Republic hub coupled with the demand for passenger travel on selected routes from JFK indicates that a new entrant airline could be expected to capture a significant portion of current air travel business at JFK hub. We are going to attract. people who might not have travel at all due to the high fares. We will draw many people to the skies who otherwise would stay on the ground.
Our projection and research indicate that air travel to and from the Dominican Republic is sufficient to provide a new carrier with revenues in its first full year of operations. The Merengue Airlines, Inc., plan has the potential for rapid ram up due to the nature of the routes and the demand for travel currently in the targeted markets. The frequency of flights plan to serve Merengue Airlines, Inc., target market exceeds the demand that dictate growth.
